Point a custom domain at your application

Generated hostnames come first

Every public application gets a generated hostname on a VibingView domain. Custom domains are added on top of it — attaching a domain never creates or bills another VPS. Each application can have up to three custom domains.

Add the domain

  1. Open the application and select the Domains tab.
  2. Enter the hostname, for example www.example.com. Platform hostnames cannot be claimed.
  3. VibingView shows two DNS options: a CNAME pointing the hostname at your generated hostname, or a TXT record at _vibingview.<your-hostname> with a one-time token.

Configure DNS

  • CNAME (simplest, for subdomains): www.example.com → your-app.<generated suffix>. This proves ownership and routes traffic in one record.
  • TXT + A (for apex domains): add the TXT ownership record, and an A record pointing to your workspace's public IPv4 address.

If you use a DNS proxy or CDN, set the record to DNS-only while verifying, otherwise the lookup sees the proxy's addresses rather than your workspace.

Verify and get HTTPS

Select Verify once the records have propagated. VibingView checks ownership and that traffic actually reaches your workspace, then asks the workspace's Caddy proxy to route the hostname. Caddy obtains the certificate; the status moves from issuing to active only after a real certificate check succeeds.
